CBC Active School Week

Active School Week was a huge success again this year. The boys in CBC engaged in a variety of activities and workshops throughout the week, including completing active homework.

All classes enjoyed a talk by Gill O’ Shea on nutrition and were particularly interested as she spoke about suitable foods to eat before training or a match so that they would be able to play to their best ability.

The boys of 5th and 6th Class also attended a talk on Mental Health, facilitated by Martina Ryan of Cork Mental Health, an organisation that promotes positive mental health within the community.

The Senior classes all enjoyed a Circuit Training session with Paul FitzPatrick as well as a GAA Skills session.

6th Class took to the yard for some VERY active learning about An Aidiacht Shealbhach during their Gaeilge lessons.

Even the teachers got involved , with some wearing a Fitbit to count their steps and all participating in the wake up and shake up in the morning.

5th Class also arranged and led some fantastic playground games for the Junior Classes.

Well done CBC!! Stay active, have fun!

A big thank you to Ms. O’ Donovan for coordinating this annual school event.
