Christmas at the Prep School

The final few weeks of term have been busy ones here at the Prep School as classes prepare for Christmas. There has been plenty of artistic activity as the boys have worked on their Christmas masterpieces. The 6th Class boys helped the Junior and Senior Infants make Christmas cards during a craft session under the expert guidance of Alec’s Mum and granny, Tanya and Trudy.  The senior classes enjoyed an active afternoon at Cork on Ice, all classes performed beautifully at the Christmas concert (along with the newly formed “Prep School Band”), the Senior classes completed their Christmas tests, we enjoyed a trip to the cinema to see “Nativity Rocks” and the Junior classes ended the term with a visit to AIB Bank at 66 South Mall to perform Christmas carols for staff and customers. We also welcomed Fr. Tom to the school for the last school mass of 2018. All of the students (and teachers) are looking forward to a well deserved Christmas break before returning in January ready for the new term ahead! A sincere thanks to all the Preparatory School Parents for all your support and help during 2018. Special thanks for your very generous donations in our recent charitable activities. Every blessing for Christmas 2018 and New Year 2019.

Visit from CBS Sexton Street

Staff and students at CBC Prep were delighted to welcome the boys from 6th Class in CBS Sexton Street, Limerick along with their teachers, Principal and Deputy Principal to our school today. Following some refreshments after their bus journey to Cork, the boys and their teachers were welcomed to CBC by Principal Dr. Larry Jordan and the boys from 5th and 6th Class in the Prep School. They then headed to the school gym and Astro-Turf for a GAA training session with coaches from a local club, Brian Dillon’s before Mr. David O’ Connell presented a very enjoyable and interactive Science Show. The day ended with Christmas lunch for all in the school canteen where the boys had time to chat and get to know one another a bit more. It was a fantastic occasion for CBC Preparatory School and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with CBS Sexton Street in years to come.
