School on Saturday

All of the Prep School teachers and Mr. McCarthy came to school on Saturday to complete first aid training with Cuisle First Aid. Thanks to their trainer, Pat Lowry, all staff members are now cerified as Community Cardiac First Reponders. Here are some of the teachers practicing their skills during the course:

School Spirit in the Infant Classes

As our Junior and Senior Infant boys were making their way to P.E. on Wednesday, they were very excited to hear the sound of drums and chants ringing through the secondary school. The school cheerleaders were ready bright and early to drum up support for the Junior and Senior Cup rugby teams and were happy to teach some of the CBC chants to our youngest students.

Christmas Concert 2017

The Christmas Concert was one of the highlights of the final week in school before the Christmas break with all classes performing beautifully together. Our soloists and instrument players were particularly well received by the audience who greatly enjoyed the show.

CBC Times, Issue 1

Our school newspaper club, CBC Times, started in October 2017. Students from 3rd to 6th class worked together with Mrs. FitzPatrick to research, write and photograph articles, interviews and reviews and they produced an excellent newspaper. Take a look at our first issue below. Well done to all involved.

Christmas at CBC Prep

Students at the Prep School enjoyed the lead up to Christmas with plenty of activities taking place to mark the festive season.

Our Junior and Senior Infant students performed some Christmas Carols on the balcony of AIB on the South Mall, accompanied by the school choir. The staff and customers of the bank enjoyed the performance greatly, as did many of the Prep School parents who popped in to lend their support to the boys.

Our Senior Infant students were very lucky to have their application for a Classroom Elf on the Shelf accepted. A special package for Mrs. FitzPatrick’s class arrived by express delivery from the North Pole (it was still cold when it was dropped into our classroom!). Tommy the Elf got up to all sorts of shenanigans during the few weeks before Christmas which the students recorded in their Elf Adventures Log Book.

Our students in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Class enjoyed a fantastic afternoon ice skating at Cork on Ice and had fun showing off their moves on the ice.
