Our Senior Infant boys have been displaying their acting skills this week during Irish lessons. They have been learning all about the spooky characters we meet at Halloween and acting out some lovely Halloween songs and poems as Gaeilge. One of our ghosts even popped into the office to say a poem – he gave Mr. McCarthy and Dr. Jordan a big fright!

National Ploughing Championships 2017
Our 5th and 6th class students, along with their teachers Mr. Lynch and Ms. McAdoo, donned their wellies and travelled to the National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore, Co. Offaly. They were excited at the opportunity to watch some ploughing, cheer on the competitors in the sheep dog trials and visit some of the exhibitor’s stalls.
After an early start on the bus from Cork (complete with a lengthy sing-song) and a day spent out an about in the fresh air, they were delighted with the complimentary burger and chips (a big thank you to Jamie for arranging this for us!).
It was a great day out and all arrived home tired but happy!
October in Junior Infants
Our Junior Infants have been working hard since they started school in September and are making great progress with their reading. This week they have been practicing words from their class reader. Mrs. Lowry is very proud of the effort they are putting in!
