Every Friday we have Rugby at CBC.
Rugby is the school’s main sport and together with our teachers, a number of Fourth Year Students help with the coaching.
They have recently completed a Munster Rugby TY Coaching Course, facilitated by Finny O’Regan and John O’Neill of Munster Branch.
Unfortunately today we didn’t have a chance to go to Lansdowne due to the rain, so we had to settle for our Lunchroom instead. Cillian, Conor and Jude called down to play a number of Rugby Games with Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 2nd Class.
When the rain eased off, Ben, JD and David had the opportunity to take 5th & 6th Classses to our Astro Turf for a game of End Ball.
Fifth Class have been busy with some fantastic Silhouettes.
Here’s a sneak peak!!
We’ll post more when we have them on display!
Special visitors to the school on Monday, were a group of teachers from Veritas College, Springs in South Africa, which is also a Christian Brothers’ school.
Boys from 2nd, 4th, 5th & 6th Classes entertained the group and then called to various classes and answered a number of questions the boys had on South Africa.
Naturally, all were keen for an Ireland v South Africa final in the upcoming World Cup!
After school, some of our Preparatory School teachers escorted the group on their walking tour of Cork City, which was given by Cllr. Kieran McCarthy and was very enjoyable and informative.
A great day was had by all when a group from the Preparatory School visited the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
It was Ireland’s final World Cup warm-up game, yet despite the result, the boys from Fourth, Fifth & Sixth Classes, really enjoyed the atmosphere.
